The purpose of this site is to allow you quick, convenient access to general information about the property assessment process and information on individual properties.

As Assessor of Los Angeles County, I will:

• Improve public service;
• Ensure that every assessee is treated fairly;
• Expand Internet services;
• Provide better access to public information;
• Fight in Sacramento for local control of property tax revenue; and
• Encourage simplified property tax procedures for property owners.

Since February 2000, I have:

• Opened all Public Service Counters on Fridays.
• Provided assessment data and Assessor maps on the Internet.
• Provided assessment information over the telephone.
• Appointed a Property Owners' Advocate to help individuals with complex problems.
• Opened new Public Service offices in Sylmar, Culver City, Signal Hill, and South El Monte.
